Bless the gentle hearts

Bless the gentle hearts

And let them be praised by all.

Like the sweet honey and the rain

That showers from the sky

And forever let them be blessed.

Like the desires of a flower to blossom

That will wither out not knowing

For what it has blossomed,

Only the destiny what the God has ordained

And that only will get united into a marital bliss.

This pair of couple is such a one

That is made for each other in all counts

And if I were a poet I would have written

A crore of poems praising them.

To lead a married life, one should have a wife

And if she has to be a virtuous housewife

He should be lucky to have fate in his favor.

The real happiness comes from love of near and dear ones

And that is the enjoyment and prosperity

And that you have achieved my dear lover in your life

And live happily forever with blessings.

When I was reading out the lines in the second stanza

Like the desires of a flower to blossom

That will wither out not knowing

For what it has blossomed,

பூவுலகின் லச்சியங்கள் பூ போன்றே   வாடும் my wife intervened and told me about the poem by Thomas Gray “Elegy written in a country Churchyard”  few stanzas of which I had read in my 10th class.

The lines are:

Full many a gem of purest ray serene,

The dark unfathomed caves of ocean bear.

Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,

And waste its sweetness on the desert air.

Kudos to Kavi arasu
