My very humble experiment to convert this lyric in Hindi.
Ever respectable Kavi arasu Sir,
You are in my heart.
What a lot of punch lines. The start itself was mesmerizing. How could you visualize the scenes must be the God’s gift. Just like Sanjaya who could visualize the Kurukshetra War and explain in detail to Dridharaashtra. You have squeezed out the depth of friendship and the faith they had in each other.
But I would like to ask one question or would rather clear more doubts. In the first line itself, a doubt persists whether Sivaji is asking a puzzle and expecting Balaji to answer it, but from the next line it becomes clear that it is a pure comparioson of the qualities of the two girls. Wah!
Why Kaviarasu did not remark the quality of the other girl as
MaNNodu nadamaadum PeN intha PeN allavO
धरती पर नाचती हुई लड़की है लड़की है वो
as an answer to the line
ViNNodu viLayaadum PeN antha PeN allavO as a comparison. If kaviarasu were asked to give more comparisons in a poetic way he would have shot many arrows and emptied his quiver.
Sivaji would have sung as ‘her voice was like lightening and sparkling and Balaji would have replied as ‘her voice was of wavy breeze and mellifluous’ and it will go on, I think so.
Again both could have said the final words as
Sendrom, kandom, vanthom
It still stands as an enigma to me. They may be stressing their individual action to be sure.
In the line
Alangaara kiNNam alai pola minnum, Kaviarasu has really played around the words with a twist to look poetic. Wonderful line indeed.
Just interchange as alai pola minnum alangaara kiNNam, the real meaning and finish comes automatically.
Again the line ‘Pazhangaala chinnam uyiraaga minnum, the same way can be interchanged as
Uyiraaga minnum pazhangaala chinnam.
In ViNNodu viLayaadum PeN antha PeNNallavO can be sung in Hindi as
Aasmaan se Khelthihui ladki hai who or Aasmaan se khelthihui ladki hai ladki hai who.
A great poet indeed! I bow before you. I was a boy of ten when I saw this movie at Sayani theatre. Standing in the scroaching sun and trapped between the caged walls I got the ticket. I was a boy of ten and could not sit with my mother as it was strict in the colors in the tickets of gents and ladies in those days.
